Final Publications

It is a bittersweet moment, but after 10 years running the Cell Division Lab, I have decided to take a break from research. The effects of covid combined with ever reducing funding rates here in Australia and increasing costs of research, have made it virtually impossible to continue to sustain my research lab. We are still working hard to finish up the final bit of research, which we hope to publish very soon. In the meantime, we have still managed to have quite a productive 2021, with several publications. You can find links to these below.

New MethodsX paper: Label Free, Quantitative Single-Cell Fate Tracking of Time-Lapse Movies

Very excited to announce that in collaboration with the very talented Dr Liz Caldon, I have published a full guide and protocol for the simple, yet very powerful method for tracking and analysing individual single cells from time-lapse movies. This method can generate a huge amount of quantitative data and give amazing insights into the mechanisms driving various phenotypes and…

New Review: The Multiple Roles of YB-1 in Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma

Very excited to announce a new review from our PhD student Tom Johnson, in collaboration with Glen Reid's laboratory, has been accepted and published in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology. Its an excellent, comprehensive review of of the oncoprotein YB-1 in Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma. The review article is Open Access and free for everyone to download. Lung cancers…

New Publication: The Oncogenic Functions of MASTL Kinase

I am very excited to announce our new review paper which is out now in Front Cell Dev Biol [Link]. This is also the first paper from Dr Kamila Marzec who recently joined the lab. Great work! MASTL kinase is a master regulator of mitosis, essential for ensuring that mitotic substrate phosphorylation is correctly maintained. It achieves this through the phosphorylation…
